Google patented "personality" robots

Imagine this,

A loved one passed away and you sorely miss them. You miss the sound of their voice. Now enter Google's pending personality patent, a downloadable and customizable service that can give a robot or even your computer any personality you desire. Now something as simple as your computer can 'adapt' a loved one's personality and even voice.

Personally, this feels like a devaluation of this passed away loved one, but I also feel it may help people experience closure or even comfort. While sad to think of, I know people (like my mother) who took comfort in listening to audio files of passed away loved ones. Incorporating passed away loved ones into your daily routine or work routine on your computer could be a comfort.

--------------

The patent for the google personality robot has already been filed and I feel it does it an injustice just to refer to it as a "missing a loved one" tool. This I feel is also what many will use it for though if it becomes incorporated into society, and so do many journalists writing on the topic from the various journals I read about the personality patent on. It's uncanny to think that our computers may soon begin having fleshed out personalities or even familiar personalities, but I imagine they will work to our benefit. Also kind of reminds me of the movie Robots.
